鈥 Vietnam War Army veteran Ralph Hill tells how his long-range reconnaissance patrol (LRP) team, surrounded by North Vietnamese forces, was saved from certain death by Cobra helicopter pilot Larry Taylor the night of June 18, 1968. In September, Taylor received the Medal of Honor for his daring rescue, and is the third recipient of the nation鈥檚 most prestigious military decoration from American Legion Post 14 in Chattanooga, Tenn. 鈥淗e鈥檚 always had a kind of 鈥榓w shucks鈥 attitude about it, but what he did was above and beyond the call of duty, and certainly at the risk of his own life,鈥 Hill says.
